JTECH MEDICAL ANNOUNCES NORTHSTAR SYSTEM UPDATE WITH NEW DRE IMPAIRMENT FUNCTIONALITY
Midvale, UT – October 1, 2024 – JTECH Medical, a global leader in functional assessment and testing solutions for healthcare professionals, is excited to announce the latest update to the JTECH Medical™ Northstar system, Version 1.2.4. This update introduces significant enhancements, including the highly anticipated DRE (Diagnosis-Related Estimates) method of impairments for spinal evaluations using the AMA 5th edition, a crucial addition for clinicians managing personal injury and workers’ compensation cases.
The DRE method of impairments allows clinicians to rate impairments according to the AMA’s primary method for evaluating individuals with injuries. By integrating this method into the Northstar system, healthcare providers can now offer clearer, more precise data in patient assessments.
Key Features of Northstar Update 1.2.4:
- DRE Method of Impairments: Added functionality to incorporate the DRE method, allowing providers to determine the degree of permanent impairment a person has sustained based on their specific diagnosis and clinical findings.
- Theia Data Converter Update: The Theia data converter is used to convert existing Tracker 5 data for use in Northstar. The converter will now run without JTECH Medical customer service involvement.
- Muscle Testing Trunk Strength Ratios: Narrative reports now display trunk strength ratios, giving a more detailed look into muscular function and imbalances.
- Improved Narrative Cover Page: The updated cover page now includes key patient information such as patient name, visit name, and visit date for a professional, patient-centric report.
“We’re constantly working to improve the capabilities of the Northstar system so healthcare providers can offer the highest level of care,” said Dano Ybarra, President and CEO of JTECH Medical. “With the addition of the DRE method, we’re not only empowering clinicians with more accurate diagnostic tools, but we’re also ensuring providers can now offer clearer, more precise data in patient assessments —especially in personal injury cases.”
